Cathy lived and worked in the US for 21 years and through that time, came to realize that all the training and all the wonderful things that she experienced there were to prepare her for her true purpose; service to her community through helping the children.

Her goal and the focus in her work with Kwimbi Kenya is training and guiding young people there to build and grow a sustainable community-focused organization. Her hope is to instill a spirit of volunteerism and of giving of one’s self and of all their talents for the benefit of the community. In doing so she hopes to guide these children to a realization that by supporting their community they will find lasting happiness.

Cathy believes it will take the work of everyone, putting in effort, for our communities to not only survive but to thrive. She is inspired by the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, “The purpose of life is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to make a difference, then you have lived and lived well.”
